My thoughts on estate sales.

As much as I love old stuff, I find estate sales totally depressing.

 

You are rummaging through what was someone's life.

 

 Personal and meaningful things, that person, for some special reason has held onto for years.

 

As in today's case everything, even the family pictures, had been left out to be destroyed in the rain.

 

I wanted to cry and could not help but feel how disrespectful that was.

 

I found this gorgeous glass platter.

 

I asked how much they wanted for it and they said $1.00.

 

I felt a bit guilty for buying it.

 

I do not know who the previous owner was, but I promise to take good care of it for you, and to and make it a treasure of my own.
